1. Our commitment
AVERCYN GLOBAL INC ("ShiftKumo", "we", "us") wants everyone to be able to use ShiftKumo, including managers and staff with disabilities. Scheduling affects people's working lives, so it matters that everyone can read their schedule, give their availability and request time off.
Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If anything on shiftkumo.com or in the ShiftKumo app is hard for you to use, e-mail support@shiftkumo.com with the subject "Accessibility". We reply within 5 business days.
2. Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. We check our pages against these criteria and fix the issues we find. Where part of our website does not yet fully meet the standard, we list it in Section 6.
3. What we do
- Keyboard navigation. You can reach and use all navigation, links, buttons and forms with a keyboard alone.
- Skip link. Each page starts with a "skip to main content" link, so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation.
- Visible focus. The element that has keyboard focus is always clearly highlighted.
- Sufficient contrast. Text and important interface elements meet WCAG contrast requirements.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion (prefers-reduced-motion), we reduce or remove animations.
- Text alternatives. Images that convey information have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
- Declared language. Each page declares its language (English or Japanese), so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
- Structure. We use headings, lists, tables and landmarks so that pages are easy to navigate with assistive technologies.
4. Compatibility
ShiftKumo is designed to work with:
- recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and on mobile; and
- common screen readers, including VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA and JAWS (Windows).
Older browsers and assistive technologies may not display all content correctly.
5. Technologies we rely on
Accessibility on shiftkumo.com relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript working with your web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your device.
6. Known limitations
- Interactive schedule demo. The interactive schedule demo on our home page is a visual illustration of how a schedule looks in ShiftKumo. The same information is given in text on the page, so you do not need the demo to understand what ShiftKumo does.
- Third-party checkout. The secure checkout page is provided by our payment processor, and we do not fully control its accessibility. If you have trouble paying, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.
- Customer-created content. Shift names, notes and other content that customers enter into their workspaces are written by those customers, and their accessibility is outside our control.
We are working to reduce these limitations. If you find any issue not listed here, please tell us.
7. Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of ShiftKumo. Please e-mail support@shiftkumo.com with the subject "Accessibility" and include:
- the web address (URL) or the part of the app where you had the problem;
- what you were trying to do and what happened; and
- the browser and any assistive technology you were using, if you know them.
We reply within 5 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding Japanese public holidays). We will tell you how we plan to fix the problem, and we will help you get the information or complete the task in the meantime.
8. Alternative formats
If you need information from our website or any of our policies in a different format, such as plain text or large print, please ask. Contact us at support@shiftkumo.com with the subject "Accessibility", and we will provide it as quickly as we reasonably can.
9. How we assessed accessibility
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by our own team, using keyboard-only testing, screen reader checks and reviews against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. It was last reviewed on October 14, 2026. We review it whenever we make significant changes to our website or app.
10. Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is part of how we design and build ShiftKumo, not a one-time project. We consider accessibility when we design new features, test changes before release and act on feedback from our users.
